6-Strand Cotton Floss
wound on Wooden Spools
I've placed a large order for Aurifloss. Hopefully most of it is available at Aurifil's Chicago warehouse and will arrive by Jan 15. Any colors that have to come direct from Italy, may just trickle in over the next few weeks. For those of you doing Susan Ache's "Collecting Colors SAL" project: it is my hope that any out-of-stock colors will be replenished very soon.
Also, please don't be concerned if you receive any Aurifloss that is unwrapped. It came that way from Aurifil. Originially they did not wrap their floss, but later decided wrapping is best. Until their unwrapped inventory of floss is depleted, unwrapped spools are still possible.
Aurifloss is perfectly suited for stitching on all types of fabric, is made with 100% long staple cotton .
Brilliant six-strand divisible thread , it may be used as purchased, or one or more strands may be separated to create thread of various thicknesses.
Colors are washable and fade resistant .
Embroidery floss is used for embroidery on fabric, such as cross-stitch, huck embroidery, miniature punch-needle embroidery, and more. It’s also used for embroidering in scrapbooks and on lampshades. Other needlecrafts that may employ embroidery floss include needlepoint and crochet, and one can use embroidery floss for appliqué as well.
Several crafts use knotted embroidery floss. Some crafters, for example, like to tie their quilts with embroidery floss, an application that combines stitching and tying, often using a surgeon’s knot or a double-twist square not
