| This 60 weight fine thread is 100% mercerized, long staple Egyptian cotton. Each spool has 219 yards and is 2 ply with a silk finish. This is an excellent choice for hand and machine applique, fine sewing, machine embroidery, and machine quilting. It makes a beautiful satin stitch.
Some quilter's use it for piecing because there is less bulk at the seams, and that means a more accurate sized block.
