Mountain Patchwork Square Dance - Make a one block art piece or continue into a larger project such as a quilt. Uses the double stitch - If desired, this pattern can be done almost all by hand, no sewing machine is requred except to bind. This is not a fine hand quilting stitch. It is a warm and primitive stitch and is embellished with embroidery stitching. | Mountain Patchwork Promise Stitch Log Cabin Pattern - This is a great project for those scraps of coordinating fabrics we all have laying around. This pattern features the log cabin block and is hand-pieced using a stitch called the Promis Stitch. (Double Stitch) that originated from the Appalachian Mountain people. Frames can be purchased from the pattern company. The finished block size is 4 inches. In the picture you see finished projects using 1, 4 or 9 blocks. |
